Unwanted hair on the face and body is a complaint of many of our patients. Shaving, waxing, and threading to remove hair is a hassle it can also be painful and requires constant maintenance. A solution to treating unwanted facial and body hair is laser hair removal. Laser hair removal yields long term permanent hair reduction in the treated area reducing the need to shave, wax or thread. At Advanced Dermatology, we have numerous lasers to choose from when performing laser hair removal. This allows us to customize each treatment to achieve the best results. Our multiplicity of lasers includes the CoolGlide Vantage, 1064nm Nd: YAG laser which safely and effectively removes hair from dark skin patients of Asian, African American, Indian and Middle Eastern descent. We also use the Comet diode laser with radiofrequency to treat dark hair and some light hair in light skin patients. The Prowave is an infrared programmable wavelength system we use to treat dark hair in light skin patients. This system provides faster treatments with minimal discomfort.
