Why CAN you see varicose veins<\/a> on your legs? That, my friend, is no joke. Varicose veins are most often a result of malfunctioning check-valves within the superficial venous system in one’s legs. It is both a common problem (millions of Americans suffer from superficial venous insufficiency) and a very treatable problem due to advances in minimally-invasive techniques over the past few decades.<\/p>\n

Superficial venous insufficiency, the underlying cause of most varicose veins and many spider veins, can be diagnosed and treated right here in the office. During your consultation, I spend approximately 30 minutes getting to know: your medical history, symptoms (most often including heaviness, fatigue, cramps, restless legs, and swelling), and if necessary, perform a diagnostic ultrasound to determine if your check-valves are functioning properly. I also spend the time to teach you about superficial vein function and malfunction. We’ll spend some time talking about a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. I’ll happily answer any and every question you may have regarding your issues and the state-of-the-art treatments I routinely perform. Many of these treatments<\/a> may be coverable by insurance. There is no downtime, few restrictions, and you can resume most routine activities immediately after treatment.<\/p>\n
