Moles on<\/a> the skin are a common occurrence, and moles can be located anywhere on the body. Moles can be removed from the surface of the skin through either surgical excision or shave removal.<\/p>\n

Both procedures are performed in the office under local anesthesia. Surgical excision of a mole requires stitches following the removal. A shave removal does not require stitches and only a scab remains. The scab should heal within 10-14 days.
