Is ‘Ozempic Face’ Reversible?

For those with a slower weight loss rate, the skin can gradually regain some elasticity and plumpness. This might help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sunken features.

Other Body Changes After GLP-1 Use

While these lesions are benign, they can occur in conjunction with several genetic syndromes. These conditions may be associated with serious skeletal and neurological abnormalities that require multidisciplinary evaluation and management. Infants born with capillary malformations should be evaluated by a dermatologist as well as their pediatrician to rule out any associated conditions. Those with port-wine stains involving the forehead or eyelid should also receive an eye examination to assess for possible associated glaucoma.

The majority of capillary malformations, however, are not linked to underlying syndromes. It is also important to recognize that treatment is not required, as many individuals embrace their birthmarks and consider them a beautiful part of their identity. Due to their progressive growth and deepening color, often becoming more violaceous, some people may find them cosmetically bothersome over time. Continued growth may also cause gradual deformity of facial structures such as the nose. Initiating laser treatments early can be highly effective, though significant improvement can be achieved at any age.

Both pulsed-dye laser (PDL) and potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) laser are highly effective vascular devices. These devices target dilated blood vessels that make up the capillary malformation. Procedures are performed in an outpatient setting and typically do not require anesthetic. Multiple sessions are usually needed every few weeks to achieve optimal results, especially for more chronic or darker lesions. It is also common for port-wine stains to re-darken over time, and maintenance treatments or touch-ups may be recommended.
