Pathways to Volunteership By observing to the pathways that are taken by volunteers as they enter a group, which may differ from the prescribed volunteer management system, the flow of volunteers into an organization can be improved. The "volunteer path" can be arranged so that the natural rewards for volunteering - a sense of belonging - are increased at each leadership level within the organization. We will address volunteer "handling", perks and rewards, Avoiding volunteer-group "pathologies", and fostering "connectedness." The ideal attendee is a leader within a volunteer organization who is in a position to affect volunteer-management procedures or a leader of a new volunteer group. This attendee should have an interest in fostering new leadership and distributing his or her own workload among this new leadership.
