The SM Community: Cooperation and Conflict with a Non-Leather World

The SM community is more visible than ever.  We interact with the
non-leather world through conflicts, such as the San Diego Six
and Paddleboro.  However, we are also learning to cooperate with
the media, with law enforcement and with politicians and are
teaching them to cooperate with us.  One of the reasons for our
success is the fact that we have visible SM-leather-fetish
institutions, such as Leather Archives & Museum and the National
Coalition for Sexual Freedom.  You as an individual can add to
this positive visibility by coming out.
